Title: Consultant for development of Training Manual and conducting training for Social Workers on GBV Case Management
Program: Comprehensive Iraqi Refugee Assistance Program (funded by BPRM)
Duration: Short Term Consultancy - Approx. 3 months

International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a consultant to work closely with IMC, in collaboration with local partner ABAAD-Resource Center for Gender Equality, to develop training manual for social workers on Gender Based Violence (GBV) Case Management (CM). The consultant will work to ensure that developed manual is field tested through scheduled training in April, reviewed and finalized accordingly.
 

Key responsabilites:

IMC expects consultant to deliver the following:

  • Training curriculum for training social workers in GBV Case Management (as per the curriculum formats provided by IMC)
  • Facilitator guide for training in Arabic language
  • Monitoring & Evaluation Package as part of the overall training manual (KAP pre.post test, daily evaluation form, overall evaluation form, and on- the-job training checklist)
  • Carry out field testing of training materials developed through scheduled trainings for IMC, NGO and SDC social workers - Training will include theoretical and on the job coaching sessions
  • Facilitate outsourced expert review, and finalize training manual and M&E tools in accordance with field testing report and recommendations
  • Ensure that developed training manual compliments existing IMC and ABAD efforts to standardize GBV case management approach at the PHC and SDC levels, including the development of screening, documentation tools and guiding principles

 

Key competencies:
  • An M.A. or M.S. degree in public health, social policy or related field Relevant Ph.D. degree is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of participatory methods, adult learning, and quality-training material development
  • Experience in training of trainers and training of different levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in working on gender and protection issues, with a specific expertise in ending domestic and gender based violence; Previous work in GBV case management is a plus

Demonstrated knowledge in:

  • The use of a range of social research and evaluation methods and the types of evidence they produce
  • The Lebanese context related to the field of Gender Based Violence
  • Excellent Arabic written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present produced tools before audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, often working under deadline
Contract terms:

The consultant will liaise with IMC staff and will work with, and report to, Ms. Zeinab Hijazi, IMC Regional Mental Health Coordinator and Ms. Ghida Anani, IMC GBV Advisor and Director of ABAAD

We envisage a period of three months consultancy work with agreed upon lump sum per month.
