The president of Caritas – Lebanon, Father Simon Faddool and the General Director of General Security General Abbas Ibrahim signed the day before yesterday at the General Security headquarters a new memorandum of understanding aiming to improve the conditions and the ways in which GS deals with migrant domestic workers.  The memorandum stipulates the implementation by Caritas of training workshops to GS officers and inspectors, as well as ways of handling investigations and how to deal with detainees and address urgent situation.

Within the same vein, the GS sent out a public memorandum allowing migrant domestic workers holders of annual residency permits to go straight to immigration booth upon their arrival to the Beirut International Airport without queuing in the special GS inspection booth.
