Coinciding with the International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, the Bank of Beirut and Arab Countries (BBAC) launched for the fourth consecutive year a campaign celebrating women, through exclusive offers of banking products and services and through partaking in social and humanitarian activities that support women empowerment. BBAC’s action reflects a belief that ambitious women do wonders when given the right opportunities and that their achievements are crucial in shaping a brighter future. Meanwhile, the minister of state for women’s affairs, Jean Ogassapian, pledged during his opening of the ninth Mothers’ Exhibition at the Central College Jounieh that he will not spare effort or seize an opportunity to support competent women to reach decision-making and leadership positions. The exhibition showcased creations of School mothers including, glassware and glass paintings, artisan items, embroidery, jewelry accessories and traditional food. Likewise, Maison d’Art gallery organized an exhibition, ‘Mawtini’, at the new premises of the French Cultural Center in Saida, displaying paintings of 45 participants, art students and professional artists. The main themes focused on women, the nation and nature, as they all share the bountiful spirit of motherhood. The event also honored the ideal mother Hana Qassir.
