Safadi Foundation organised, yesterday, two seminars on women and children health. The events were held at the Foundation’s Women Academy, located in Kobbeh area of Tripoli, and were facilitated by Dr. Nadia Natifeh Mokaddem (Internal and Pediatric Medicine) as well as Dr. Rina Mokaddem (Dentist). Some 22 women of ages ranging between 20 and 60 years in addition to 30 children with ages ranging between 8 to 10 years took part in these activities all of whom are residents of the area.
Safadi social worker, Marwa Mulki, indicated that the choice of issues, highlighted during the two health awareness events, was based on the results of a study done by the organisation in the region and which showed that women suffer from diseases largely due to poor health awareness and deficient self care. The same study also showed that children also suffer from poor hygiene and bad nutrition for the same reasons.
