The startup incubator, Berytech, launched yesterday the Next Society venture funded by the EU during a ceremony organized in partnership with ANIMA Investment Network, Mowgli Mentoring and France Clusters. The launch event, under the theme, ‘A Shared Ambition for the Mediterranean’, comes as part of the activities of Berytech, during the Global Entrepreneurship Week held in collaboration with Beirut Digital District (BDD). On the occasion, the head of the EU Delegation to Lebanon, Ambassador Christina Lassen, said the aim of the project is to translate ideas into products and services that generate growth and create jobs. Similarly, Berytech chair and CEO, Maroun Chammas, said, “We are very proud to be the exclusive partner of The Next Society in the country as we share the same mission and shape the future of the region and that of the Mediterranean.” For his part, ANIMA general manager, Emmanuel Noutary, pointed out that the project reflects the philosophy that is based on corporate social responsibility and supports the rise of potentials and new leaders by targeting startups, clusters and technology transfer offices. He uncovered a four-year action plan implemented with EU backing, through enhancing general policy frameworks, promoting the success of startups and international clusters, in addition to fostering technology transfer offices.
