Minister of Tourism criticizes summer festivals in Lebanon

The Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian stated that the overwhelming number of summer festivals defeats their purpose. Guidanian hoped for a better organization of what he called the “festivals trend” so that all have a share. He further explained that the purpose of festivals is for each village to feel that it is achieving and implementing successful festival and that his Ministry will take action in this regard. Guidanian was speaking yesterday at the launch of the Ghalbun festivals which will take place from May 28th and until July 1st. He further reiterated that such event should bring in hard currency and invigorate the economy. (Al Diyar 15 May 2018)
