Within the framework of activities aiming at supporting youth capabilities, the Themar Tripoli Investment Fund concluded last Saturday its annual competition to select an investment idea out of 90 proposals by students from tens of universities in Tripoli and the North. The Jury selected three winning projects, the first being “IngREADients” project from the Lebanese university. The project is an App which helps consumers evaluate products’ ingredients. The second place was won by "Leb E-Guide from City university and which is an App about touristic journeys in Lebanon. The Lucy Project from the Arab University won the third place for an APP to measure children’s body temperature. On another vein, the Safadi Cultural Centre hosted the Money smart programme organized by Eventa and under the auspices of Byblos Bank. The event seeks to strengthen financial culture amongst youth between 20 and 30 years if age (students, employees and employers). The event consisted of a 2 day training for some 65 participants from Tripoli and the North and included plenaries on budgeting, taxation and relations with banks. For its part, the Faculty of Sciences at the USEK university organized yesterday its eighth scientific day entitled “Innovation through Practical Research and Technology”, during which prizes were bestowed to 9 winning students.
