The Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development in partnership with La Sagesse University held the closing ceremony for ‘Promoting active citizenship through couching and training’ (PACCT) project at UNESCO Palace under the patronage of the minister of state for administrative development in the caretaker government, Inaya Ezzedine. The project is reportedly aimed to improve the capacity of 107 NGOs in 4 regions across Lebanon, namely, Akkar, Beqaa, Saida and Iqlim al Kharub. It is implemented in the framework of the AFKAR 111 program with funding from the EU and is managed by minister Ezzedine’s office. On the occasion, Ezzedine said that the Hariri Foundation and La Sagesse University have successfully built the capacities and transferred professional expertise to locally active CSOs to a point where they competed in tendering projects. Such experience achieved under the direction of the ministry for administrative development presented a field model that reflected methods to strengthen ties between large organizations and small associations and enabled startups to play an active role in their local community. "The importance of this role is that it integrates with the sought for comprehensive development schemes and promotes them for a better tomorrow,"Ezzedine concluded. ( Al Mustaqbal, June 2, 2018)
