A ceremony was held yesterday to launch the first women football team, ‘Primo Sport Academy’ in the Shuf town of Barja, south of Beirut. Khadija Hajjar, speaking on behalf of the team, praised the mastermind of the project, Nour Ibrahim Huhu, stating that women have begun to rebel and participate in various sports activities. For her part, Primo Sport Academy president, Fatmeh Khatib Huhu, said the team is the first in the history of Bajra soccer, pointing out that the goal is to unleash the talents of many girls who wish to practice this sports. She called on the municipality to give more attention to soccer and create standard football fields and stadiums. A video presenting the team and its players was screened at the end of the ceremony followed by a friendly match between Al Ahli, Aley and Primo teams. (NNA, September 23, 2019)
