The report, conducted by the International Labor Organisation and UNDP, examines the Arab labor market trends and structures over the two decades leading up to the Arab Spring in 2011, offering insights into the underlying causes for the uprisings that have since spread from Tunisia across the Arab world.
This study investigates labor supply and demand and their impacts on employment, and the institutional framework that determines decent work, especially social protection and social dialogue. It also presents policy considerations and recommendations to governments, workers and employers in the region.
