This monograph is concerned with the gender-differentiated consequences of the sometimes unrecognized impact of macroeconomic policy on individual women and men in developing countries. It argues that the lack of gender-awareness which characterizes the economics profession and its activities is partly due to defects and deficiencies in its methodological apparatus.
