ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.


The Syrian Voice and Accountability Project is a two-year programme implemented by ABAAD-resource Centre for Gender Equality in Lebanon and ARDD-Legal Aid in Jordan in partnership with Oxfam. The project aims at empowering approximately 33,000 Syrian men and women to become agents in their communities and lives though enhancing the preparedness of Syrian refugees to constructively engage in humanitarian, development and political processes.
This program is supported by Oxfam International, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Royal Norwegian Government.


JOB PURPOSE:
The Finance Manager has direct responsibility for the project budget, finance, and operations’ related activities, from assisting in developing a fiscal strategy to creating projections and reports, from purchasing project equipment to managing office space and capital investments.

Key responsabilites:
  • Develop and track annual fiscal plans
  • Create and present monthly and quarterly financial projections and reports, to specific deadlines and ensure the accuracy of these reports;
  • Track program and project budgets and cash flow;
  • Track revenues from all funding sources;  
  • Process all bills, checks, and expense reimbursements;
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out;
  • Manage budgets;
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
Key competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a business-related field preferred;
  • At least five years progressively responsible financial management experience in a complex, dynamic environment such as an academic setting, or nonprofit  organization;
  • Ability to juggle complex multiple priorities and to work well independently with little administrative support;
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information in strictest confidence;
  • Trustworthiness and excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Impeccable attention to detail;
  • Technically skilled; proficient in computer applications especially Microsoft Office, and financial software;
  • Strong leadership experience in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis;
  • Demonstrated management skills;
  • A foundation in nonprofit accounting;
Contract terms:

Post holder reports to:  ABAAD Executive Director
Immediate recruitment - Part-timer -  2 years
