The ministry of tourism Michel Pharaon launched yesterday the first edition of the Beirut Restaurants Festival which will kick off this Friday September 30th up till October 2nd. The event to be held in the Mar Mikhail neighbourhood is organized by the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Night Clubs and Pastries in Lebanon in collaboration with the leading Hospitality Services company. During the launching ceremony, the director general of the tourism ministry, Nada Sardouk, said the festival comes after Beirut was named the Best International City for Food. Similarly, Hospitality Services director Joumana Salameh said her company has joined forces with the Syndicate to demonstrate that Lebanon has earned a real festival which embraces some of the top eateries in the capital under the umbrella of the Syndicate. For his part, the Syndicate President, Toni Rami, said Lebanon is au fait with winning global titles in tourism and hospitality, and boasted Beirut’s honorable status as an attractive landmark for tourists from across the world. Lauding the exquisite Lebanese cuisine, Rami pointed out that the festival comes to complement this successful heritage. He mentioned that over 60 Syndicate-member participants will be there expecting thousands of guests to visit the venue every day and enjoy tasty bites from a wide variety of food selections.
