The cornerstone of the tactical training village in Aramoun - Aley, to train more than nine thousand individual security, including 600 women, was placed during a ceremony that took place yesterday, and held under the auspices of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel and in the presence of U.S. Ambassador Maura Connelly.
In her keynote speech, Connelly considered that the partnership with the Lebanese security institutions is aimed at building a stable and independent country, and at integrating women within the ranks of ISF and at building their professional capabilities. Connelly also added that support to this project is worth ten million dollars that will assist in modernizing the facilities so as to enable ISF personnel to acquire new learning police investigation techniques through the usage of the new training tactical village, forensic investigations laboratory, modern classrooms and a gun-firing field. The facility will also include a vehicle maintenance facility for ISF vehicles.
