The National Commission for Women’s Affairs (NCW) in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) launched yesterday the annual report for the year 2013 for implementing the action plan of the National Strategy for Women in Lebanon (2011-2021). Sossi Bouladian, from NCLW, said the report has been prepared jointly with UNFPA and with the collaborative effort of the relevant official departments and some 40 civil society organizations working with women. The latter, it should be noted have provided NCLW with the input on the various projects and programs carried out during 2013 across 12 sectors stipulated in the said strategy

The annual report reflected the extent of application of the plan and the response of the civil society and government institutions in realizing the key objectives calling for the end of all forms of discrimination against women. The report has also shown that while the implementation process is on the right track, however, it is impeded by the limited resources and the absence of a political will.
