Lebanon’s imports of meat reached 36,000 tons in 2017 at USD 155 million, Al Akhbar reported. The total volume of exports in the same year stood at 20,596 tons (representing 55% of imports) worth of USD 80,333,000 (51% of the total value of imported meat), according to Customs figures. The latter showed that Brazil ranked first among meat exporters to Lebanon, with imports reaching 20,596 tons at USD 80,333,000, followed by Australia (USD 12,865,000) and India (USD 11,427,000).
