Minister Hassan urges women to participate in municipal by-elections

The minister of interior and municipalities, Raya Hassan, called on Lebanese women to actively partake in the upcoming municipal by-elections. Hassan was speaking during her participation in the seminar entitled, ‘Women in the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030’ held yesterday at ESCWA Beirut headquarters. Hassan stressed that women should exercise their constitutional right in voting, pointing to the progress achieved over the past 10 years in the Arab countries to this effect. “Though the percentage of women is still small, they are increasingly giving the nod to participate in political life,” Hassan maintained.
