The minister of state for economic empowerment of women and youth, Violette Safadi, signed yesterday a protocol of cooperation with the head of the Women’s Leader Council of Lebanon (WLC), Madiha Rislan. The protocol seeks to underscore collaboration between the private and public sectors and inspire women and youth participation in the national economy and decision making. Rislan on the occasion, said the above approach works along 4 axes aimed at: promoting cooperation in exchange of expertise between the private and public sectors; synchronizing private sector needs with the legislative and governmental regulatory provisos; provision of support to individual initiatives and startups, and laying the foundations for propping productive industry and investment. In turn, Safadi said that the protocol is key with relation to the ‘together to promote women’s capacities in society’ principle. The partnership between the private and public sectors is essential in building the structure of world economies, Safadi maintained, adding, it is of utter importance to activate it in our country.
