RDFL organized yesterday a commemoration on the occasion of Women International Day, held in its centre in Baalbeck in the presence of Hussein Solh, the coordinator of Baalbeck region for the Future Movement in Baalbeck, and representatives from women and civil associations. In her keynote during the ceremony, Leila Mroue, RDFL coordinator fro the Beqaa, criticized the position of the Lebanese government which continue to deny women’s aspiration and rights, ignoring the demands of the women movement, while that same government is incapable of protecting its citizens. Mroue indicated that women will never accept anything less than full gender equality on all levels, and the abolishment of all types of discrimination and violence against women.
