The minister of agriculture, Ghazi Zeiater visited Amman yesterday with a delegation from the ministry and the private sector and held a series of meetings with his Jordanian counterpart, Khaled Hanafiyat, as well as other ministry officials on ways to improve mutual agricultural relations. On the sidelines of the visit, the Lebanese-Jordanian Joint Agricultural Committee convened and decided to reactivate the work of the technical committees in order to remove obstacles that impede agricultural exchange and to confirm compliance with relevant laboratory test procedures as formerly agreed between the two states. Both sides also agreed to resume, as of 15/10/2017, the export of Lebanese potato to Jordan and raise the quantities of exported Lebanese apples, besides increasing the export of bananas and onions.
