Safadi’s Women Academy concludes its Scholastic Support Programme

The Women Academy affiliated to the Safadi Foundation organised a closing ceremony to mark the completion of the Scholastic Support initiative implemented by the organisation within the framework of its programme entitled “Life is ahead of us” and which was supported by the Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with the Italian Cooperation Office at the Italian Embassy.  The project seeks to contribute to mitigating poverty in particular neighborhoods and to support processes of social development targeting the most vulnerable segments of society in Tripoli.
The event included a showcase of the experiences of a number of students who attended the programme in the Women Academy and the Youth Centre. During the showcase beneficiaries described progress in their school performance, and it was preceded by an outing organised by the Safadi Foundation’s Youth programme whereby the beneficiaries had the opportunity to visit the citadel, wax museum and market in Byblos.
