Saudi Arabia honors Arab women journalist in Beirut

Saudi ambassador to Beirut, Walid Boukari, honored on Friday creative Arab media personalities in a ceremony at the embassy, in the presence of tourism minister in the caretaker government, Avedis Guidanian and a crowd of dignitaries. Boukhari underlined the role of the Kingdom in supporting and empowering women in political participation, as well as, in the fields of education, media, medicine and engineering. Saudi Arabia, Boukhari maintained, has facilitated this in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2020-2030 and with direct backing of the Saudi King to this effect. The ambassador disclosed that the Arab woman has had scientific and career contributions locally and globally, pointing to the many journalists and authors from various Arab states, namely Morocco, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In the end, shields were distributed among the following honorees: Hanaa Rakabi (S.A), Mahasen Imam (Jordan), Nibras Maamouri (Iraq), Samira Abdallah (Kuwait) and Lamia Mahmoud (Egypt).
