As part of the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, (ENPI), the Ministry of Agriculture and the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute in Montpellier (IAM) launched last Monday the second phase of the EU-funded Agricultural and Rural Development Program (ARDP). The second phase extending for a period of 30 months will reportedly focus on policies supporting producers through specific priority issues. These include for example, the agricultural extension systems that boost the performance of farmers; methods to mainstream agricultural practices towards promoting the preservation of resources and the environment in order to deliver high quality products, and marketing expansion techniques that link local producers with domestic and international markets.
