Warnings to businesses violating health and safety standards
The ministry of industry yesterday released 10 warnings involving 10 establishments after recent field inspections were carried out to assess their compliance with production specifications, including the environmental, health and safety standards. Eight of these establishments are bakeries and pastries located in Burj Barajneh, Amshit, Zuk Mkhael, Shiyah, Jbeil, Sin el Fil and Burj Abu Haidar; another one located in Zuk Mkhael invests in a meat and poultry house, and the last one situated in Kayfun is involved in packaging and production of paper cups and plates, tissue paper, aluminum and nylon foil. The ministry ordered above institutions to observe procedures and penalties related to industrial firms, giving them a one to two month ultimatum to settle their conditions. The ministry will reportedly reserve its right to issue supplementary directives and enforce additional measures that protect against risks and damages in the event of non-compliance.
