The Collective for Research and Training on Development (CRTD-A) held a national workshop within the Regional Women Economic Empowerment Project (RWEEP) on the 13th & 14th of July. The workshop aimed at sharing and exchanging knowledge on women’s economic participation. More that thirty women cooperatives participated in the workshop as well as women associations and civil organizations working for women economic empowerment. Representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Council for Development and Reconstruction also attended and joined the discussions.
The results of qualitative research performed in the last two years were presented to the group. The research was conducted with the participation of more than 30 women cooperatives across Lebanon. The aim of the research was to study the magnitude of women’s economic empowerment and the role of cooperatives in supporting women on the economic level.
The Women Economic Empowerment E-portal (WEEPortal) was launched during the workshop.
