Pharaon determined to boost restaurant sector after Beirut crowing as the ‎best international food destination

3-10-2016

The minister of tourism, Michel Pharaon, inaugurated last Friday the first ‎edition of Beirut Restaurants Festival organized by the Syndicate of Owners of ‎Restaurants, Cafes, Night Clubs and Pastries in Lebanon in collaboration with ‎the leading Hospitality Services Company and with the support from the ‎ministry. The event held over the past weekend was attended by a crowd of ‎dignitaries and food lovers who toured the Old Mar Mkhail Bus Station venue ‎which hosted over 70 top eateries of the capital. The festival also celebrated ‎the new title awarded to Beirut by the renowned Travel & Leisure Magazine. ‎During the opening ceremony, Pharaon highlighted the unique local and ‎international culinary selections catered by Beirut bistros and restaurants to ‎both city dwellers and external visitors. Lauding Beirut’s new leading ‎international ranking, Pharaon pressed the need to promote the sector in ‎keeping with the latest accomplishment, particularly that Lebanon now ‎exports hospitality expertise, skills, excellence and franchises, and that “our ‎diet and mezzeh have been declared as a world heritage by UNESCO”.
