The Welfare Association is in the process of implementing a four year project “Empower marginalized communities in South Lebanon”. The project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund in the UK and includes a CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) component focused on Palestinian refugee families living in the camps and gatherings of the Tyre area in South Lebanon.

Key responsabilites:
  • To develop and coordinate atraining programand providemodules for training (in Arabic language). Specific topics to be decided in consultation with WA.
  • Administer pre and post-tests to enable evaluation of the results of the training and the extent of comprehension of the participants of the principles and practices of CBR
  • Transfer knowledge and build capacities among local partners and community for the purpose of developing community partnerships
  • Capacity building of local partners in order to transfer their knowledge to persons with disability and their parents
  • Organize training workshops and field visits whenever needed according to the training program
  • Deliver 50 training workshop days and 35 follow up visits that will include:
  • Appropriate application of skills
  • Further advice and guidance on problems encountered during implementation.
  • Submit information for the dissemination of the best practices in the community
  • Provide support to local NGOs and beneficiary communities so as to facilitate the fulfillment of the plan of action and implementation of the local development project selected in a transparent way
  • Present quarterly reports
